Projects are a core part of business for many MSPS. However, setting them up right from the start can be a time-consuming challenge. Many teams are forced to reinvent the wheel each time they begin a custom client project or new initiative, building projects manually from scattered spreadsheets or unstructured PSA data. Others spend hours to days crafting templates that lack the necessary structure to generate accurate timelines.

That’s where Moovila’s Project Hub comes in. Project Hub is a library of starter templates which can be accessed within the project portfolio view of Moovila Perfect Project. 

A better starting point 

Project Hub was designed to eliminate the blank-page problem. Instead of creating projects from scratch, users can now begin with Moovila Starter Templates, which includes curated project templates built by both Moovila and by Moovila MSP Partners. 

Each project template comes preloaded with key elements including typical project phases, tasks, milestones, along with the common dependencies, durations, and work estimates assigned to each task. This gives users a clear view of how an effective project should be structured and includes the necessary elements for Moovila’s Critical Path Engine to function. 

This foundation helps teams quickly visualize their work plans and confidently adapt their saved starter templates to their unique business needs. 

The magic is structure 

While Moovila’s Smart Schedule brought automation and intelligence to resource planning, Project Hub brings clarity and consistency to project creation. 

With Project Hub, users can: 

• Start with Moovila Starter Templates instead of building from scratch. 

• Adapt and modify starter templates to fit internal processes or client-specific needs. 

• Save these custom templates into their company instance for reuse across teams and projects. 

• Easily provide team members and clients a visual of how dependencies, durations, and work estimates work together to form a project’s critical path. 

  
  

This combination of visibility and standardization means fewer setup errors and smoother project delivery from the start. Over time, this can impact your MSP in the form of more standardized and efficient work processes, faster client onboardings, and more comprehensive tracking and quoting of projects (especially when Project Hub is paired with Moovila’s popular Template Analytics module). 

Built for the MSP community 

Moovila’s Operations team and as well as a few long-term MSP users created the initial templates using tried-and-true project frameworks that already align closely with how many MSPs run their most successful projects today.

The existing list of verified templates represents real-world use cases like client onboarding and offboarding, cloud migration, network upgrades, O365 Migration, Risk Assessment, and Post Merger Workflow. Each template is categorized in Project Hub, so you can quickly find the templates you’re looking for. 

In upcoming releases, Moovila Partners will have the ability to build templates and share them on behalf of their organization with the communities they’re involved with as well as for general use.  

As this library grows, it will become a living project ecosystem for the MSP community, one that helps teams continuously improve, standardize, and scale.
