Jim Young, Ph.D.
Jim Young has over 30 years experience in statistical and mathematical research, development, consulting, and teaching. He earned a Ph.D. in Statistics from UC Berkeley and a Masters in Mathematics from Columbia University. He is the Founding Director of Data Science at the College of Charleston, an interdisciplinary program combining statistics, mathematics, computer science, machine learning, information theory, optimization, and artificial intelligence in order to glean valuable and actionable information from data and data-generating systems.
In addition to Jim's academic career, he was the Lead Consultant for Data Science and Predictive Analytics at CompuCom, a leading IT outsourcing specialist.
Jim was President and Founder of STATIS, a computer-intensive statistical research and software development firm and Senior Analyst at Daniel H. Wagner Associates, an R&D think tank in Silicon Valley.
Christopher Bader, Ph.D.
Christopher Bader, Ph.D., has 20 years of experience in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and computational linguistics. He served in senior technical positions at Kurzweil Computer Products, Xerox, and Microsoft. From 2002 to 2005, he was Director of Speech and Natural Language Technologies at startup Unveil Technologies.
Bader holds degrees in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, and Linguistics from Princeton and MIT.
