Moovila’s step-by-step guide to delivering your Thanksgiving turkey on time and on temperature
It’s you versus 16 pounds of poultry. What could go wrong? We've all found ourselves googling, “Fastest ways to thaw a turkey” at the eleventh hour leading up to deliver our Thanksgiving feast. After a busy week, just throwing the bird in the bathtub and hoping to not poison 20 of your closest family and friends seems like the best execution plan.
But not this year.
This year, we let Moovila do the math to ensure on-time, risk-free success. Using Moovila's Critical Path Engine, we mapped out the critical path for a Thanksgiving feast to determine the smartest plan of attack. (Yes, we are nerds, but you’ll thank us later when you are sliding into that Thanksgiving meal with a stress-free grin and a cocktail in your hand, thanks to our Thanksgiving Week Turkey Plan.)
Not all turkeys are created equal. So, here are the steps you need to take to determine your turkey’s critical path.
Lay out the tasks and determine the duration for each task.
In this example, we are going to use a 16-pound turkey.
Next, create your turkey’s critical path.
First, map out the dependencies. In this case, we clearly need to complete the tasks in the order they are listed. Then, choose the time you wish to eat on Thanksgiving Day and work the timeline backwards to determine your latest possible start date and time for each task.
Now that you have a plan in place, gather your team, assign accountability for tasks, divide and conquer! You’ve got this Thanksgiving under wraps. And don't worry, if you do slip behind schedule, Moovila will automatically alert you of any hiccups and help you adjust your timeline to get back on track.
